Backstory

Tucked away in the scenic western corner of Uganda lays Queen Elizabeth National Park. What began as Kazinga National Park in 1952 was renamed just two years later in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s visit.

The park spans over nearly 2,000 sqr kilometers in which every part breathes life. From a diverse group of animals to all sorts of different sights and communities, the park has it all.

General Info

With its wide range of wildlife, Queen Elizabeth National Park delivers. From the iconic African elephants that roam the savannas to massive herds of buffaloes, different breeds of birds and lots more.

One of the park’s most unique attractions is the population of tree-climbing lions in the southern Ishasha sector, a rare sight which can only be found in a few places on Earth. Visitors can also take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where herds of hippos lounge in the water and crocodiles sunbathe on the banks, while elephants and buffaloes drink nearby.
